The program will begin with a presentation by Virginia Woulfe-Belle, a Sierra Club Illinois staff member, speaking on what makes solar group buys highly popular in Illinois, her family’s experience going solar early through a group buy, and the many Metro East group buys, since then, that she has collaborated with other groups to forward.

Another focus will be this summer’s first solar group buy in southern Illinois, Solarize Southern Illinois, taking place in Jackson, Williamson, Union, Perry, and Franklin counties. We’ll learn of details of this group buy and the discounts already being attained through the economies of scale this configuration of folks going solar together achieves.

Touched upon also will be how solar energy production works and the 2020 State and Federal incentives available.  There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
